X-men Supreme Reflections: Mystique is LIVE and More Pic Updates!

What is it about a character like Mystique that makes her so endearing to the X-men mythos? Without a doubt, she’s one of the X-men’s most iconic villains. Over the X-men’s 50-year history, she’s found creative ways to torment them and complicate their struggles. At times, she’s actually been an ally, but never for long. X-men fans of all kinds know that as soon as Mystique shows up, they can expect the story to take some major twists. And the X-men can usually expect some major challenges as well.

That distinct mystique that makes Mystique so endearing is a big part of the character I’ve utilized in the X-men Supreme fanfiction series. She was among the first characters to show up in X-men Supreme, acting as one of Magneto’s top agents during X-men Supreme Volume 1: Mutant Revolution. Her role was pretty basic at first. She was an enemy who worked for the X-men’s greatest rivals. But as X-men Supreme unfolded, her motivations and her roles changed a great deal.

During X-men Supreme Volume 2: War Powers, I revealed that Mystique’s sole purpose for helping Magneto was to protect Rogue and Nightcrawler. And later during X-men Supreme Volume 3: Ashes of Hope, she ended up helping the X-men when they took on the Inner Circle. She’s always had her own agenda and it doesn’t matter who gets in her way. She’s going to do whatever it takes to get the job done. That’s what makes her so dangerous to the X-men. It’s also what makes her so good at what she does. But despite her long and complicated history with the X-men, she still remains a mystery.

The X-men comics have done a poor job of exploring Mystique’s backstory. The X-men movies have done a slightly better job, tying her story into that of Charles Xavier’s. However, with X-men Supreme, I’ve taken a different approach from both the comics and movies. In this fanfiction series, I’ve given Mystique’s story a twist that puts her in uncharted territory within the X-men mythos. It eventually culminated in X-men Supreme Issue 120: Sinister Revelations where Sinister revealed that Mystique was actually Rose, the former lover of Wolverine. Her life as Rose is now tied to her life as Mystique. How will this affect her? How will this affect Wolverine, Rogue, Nightcrawler, and the X-men as a whole?

This might very well be the most important entry of X-men Supreme Reflections to date. I’m not just providing insight into who Mystique is within the context of this fanfiction series. I’m providing context to who she’ll be moving forward as X-men Supreme continues to unfold. The Mystique that will emerge in X-men Supreme is a Mystique you won’t find anywhere else. So this is one story that Mystique fans definitely won’t want to miss.

And since I finally got around to updating Mystique’s pics section last week, I’ve done a few more updates since then. This time I’ve updated Storm, Psylocke, Shadowcat, and the Scarlet Witch.

With Mystique’s entry, X-men Supreme Reflections Volume 5 has come to an end. I’ve taken the time to explore these characters and provide greater depth within the scope of X-men Supreme. Now, the story is set to continue. But in order to make this story as awesome as it can be, it’s very important that I continue to receive feedback and reviews. I’m always open to hearing from readers and X-men fans. Your feedback helps me make X-men Supreme as awesome as it can be. So please contact me with your comments or post them directly in the issue. Either is fine. Please stay tuned for more X-men Supreme announcements in the coming weeks. Until then, take care and best wishes. Excelsior!
