X-men Supreme Issue 136: Stranger Things is LIVE!

It’s been a good week for X-men and X-men fans all over the world. X-men: Apocalypse has been out for a week. We’ve all had a chance to take it in, process it, and incorporate it into the X-men mythos. I saw it myself. I think fans of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Mystique have many reasons to be happy with the results. I hope those same fans are still pumped because the X-men Supreme fanfiction series is about to give them a few more reasons.

One of the biggest moments of X-men: Apocalypse had to do with Jean Grey. It’s a moment similar to one that X-men Supreme explored already, namely Jean being afraid of the sheer breadth of her powers. In the previous X-men movies, Charles Xavier favored restraint and control. But in X-men: Apocalypse, Xavier took the opposite approach. He told Jean to embrace these powers and own them. She did just that and was able to shine in ways that I’d rather not spoil.

It’s not unlike the way Jean Grey has embraced her powers in the X-men Supreme fanfiction series. During the X-men Supreme’s official Phoenix Saga, I had Jean struggling with her growing Phoenix potential in ways that began back during the Overlord arc. That struggle nearly killed her and everyone she loved. She has since owned this power and all its potential, going so far as to take on the mantle of Phoenix instead of Marvel Girl. Under Jean Grey’s control, the Phoenix Force is one of the X-men’s greatest assets. It’s also an important part of Jean Grey’s persona. Unlike the comics, it’s less a force and more a character. And that character is about to take center stage in X-men Supreme.

As I’ve announced previously, this fanfiction series is about to head back into space to explore some of the more cosmic elements of X-men. I introduced these elements way back in X-men Supreme Issue 46: Paradise Mystery where I brought the Shi’ar into this fanfiction series. That moment kick-started a story that I’ve only been teasing for the most part. It finally took form and substance in the Starcrossed arc where the Shi’ar Imperial Guard and the Starjammers made their X-men Supreme debut. But that was just a prelude to a much larger conflict that is taking place in the stars.

This conflict is going to be the catalyst for the next major clash in the X-men Supreme fanfiction series. They’ve spent most of X-men Supreme Volume 6: Liberation Decimation fighting Earthbound threats. Granted, the Mutant Liberation Front provided quite a challenge for them, but what they’re about to face will challenge them in entirely new ways. Jean Grey and her connection to the Phoenix Force will once again play a major role, but the scope and scale of this threat will impact the rest of the X-men as well.

It all starts today as I set the stage for the next great journey in X-men Supreme. That journey will begin thanks to a character who some die-hard X-men fans might recognize, but most probably have never heard of. He’s a more obscure X-men character from the early days of the Chris Claremont era of X-comics, but he’s a character that will have a very important role as X-men Supreme prepares to return to the stars. So if you’re still buzzing by what you saw in X-men: Apocalypse, especially from Jean Grey, then this will surely keep that buzz going.

X-men Supreme Issue 136: Stranger Things

Now that X-men: Apocalypse has come and gone, I hope to give X-men fans something to keep their fandom going. Until the next Wolverine movie in 2017, there won’t be many other mentions of X-men outside the comics. So I hope X-men fans will see X-men Supreme as another outlet. I want to keep making that outlet as awesome as possible. So as always, I urge everyone to take the time to leave a review for this issue and any other within this fanfiction series. Either post it directly in the issue or contact me directly. Either way is fine and I’m always happy to chat X-men. Until next time, take care and best wishes. Excelsior!

Jack
