Guess that explains the "spider signal" on the cover of Superior Spider-Man #3.

What a hot mess this is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-77471121972435474762012-12-26T21:50:13.731-05:002012-12-26T21:50:13.731-05:00I hear you, man. You're bound to be disappointed.

I guess we can only wait and see. Naturally, I'm not interested in buying Superior. Reading about a megalomaniac villain who steals Peter Parker's body, murders him, and then pretends to be him while acting under the pretense that he's been reformed because of a mind meld (which should not have even been possible due to the special costume he was wearing in ASM 700)?

No thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-21646588777389600372012-12-26T19:18:28.555-05:002012-12-26T19:18:28.555-05:00I'm sure Dan Slott is enjoying what he's d...I'm sure Dan Slott is enjoying what he's doing, but his enjoyment is secondary to the sales of the book. And if fans don't understand that, their outrage might as well be typical whining. If fans don't understand the power of apathy, then they might as well just give their money to Marvel and throw in a blow job along the way.

JackJack Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04929572842990203873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-1770880633024191782012-12-26T15:52:34.248-05:002012-12-26T15:52:34.248-05:00Dan Slott in a press release:
"So far, Slott...Dan Slott in a press release:

"So far, Slott says he has enjoyed writing Doc Ock to be younger than before. "Doc is kinda like me: He's short and schlubby. This is a guy who now gets to be in the body of Peter Parker. This opens up whole new things."

Like getting your groove on with Mary Jane!

One can only wonder if killing off Peter Parker to put the schlubby guy into his body isn't some sort of wish fulfillment for Slott.

Either way, Steve Wacker is saying the change is permanent, although Marvel EIC Axel Alonso wasn't so hot on the idea at first. But Slott and Wacker both convinced him to do away with Peter Parker. Now it only remains to be seen whether readers will reward them for this nonsense or drop the book. Apathy would be the proper response to ASM #700 and Superior -- but we're talking about comic readers, and apathy isn't exactly their strong suit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
