This present exists because of battles fought and decisions made... If the O5 don't get to do those then how can this present continue, that means the X-men will have memories of events that no longer would have happened. Also the future xmen like Xorn/Jean can only exist as is BECAUSE O5 were brought forward since Jean died... Twice. Again maybe I'm missing something. P. S. It seems to me that the writers of these comics try to keep a conflict going in a nonsensical fashion, as if the contenders deliberately refuse to understand each other even when they explain themselves quite clearly. This deliberate misunderstanding is annoying. If your actions or presence is destroying the fabric of time and space why persist? And seriously they need to get off of Cyclops dick. I'm sorry if I'm all over the place here but I've been reading a lot trying to catch up and it's frustrating to see X-men in such a state. I'm glad this blog is becoming a bigger form for discussion and not just a place for me to document my drunken rants about comics. My liver thanks you all. The nature of the Paradox is still unclear and until shown otherwise, I'm going to assume the worst. Marvel just loves making excuses to fuck up characters and past events. Just look at AvX for proof. I hope I'm wrong, but I'll only believe it when I see it.

JackJack Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04929572842990203873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-65846972381980544802013-10-19T23:13:09.514-04:002013-10-19T23:13:09.514-04:00Maybe O5 Cyclops' death and resurrection is th...Maybe O5 Cyclops' death and resurrection is the reason for the paradox. I think time travel is still possible, but they came from the past, the AoU time rip occurred and now they're stuck there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-17950735657061078052013-10-17T14:53:43.834-04:002013-10-17T14:53:43.834-04:00I think people are assuming too much from O5 Jean ...I think people are assuming too much from O5 Jean & Scott. Maybe they DONT get together at all and Jean's fucked up because she joined another team and as beast says she's "battle broken." Maybe she fought against Shadow King, or Stryfe, Mr. Sinister, or Madelyn Pryor at a young age and either lost or lost her mind/control over her powers. I personally would rather see some OTHER reason than just Scott for Jean being different. I think that's been a problem with Jean for decades. In the 90s they were on separate teams, she was her own person, had her own adventures, but they were still a couple. After that it seemed like she was ONLY ever defined by Scott and the Phoenix and that's bullshit. There's more to her character and if a writer cant' see that then she's better off dead.

My big problem with this issue was that Beast's "they can't be sent back they created a paradox" well that same dam paradox would prevent them from having any effect on the present. So if they can't be sent back then O5 Scott nearly dying shouldn't have had any effect on our Scott, which wouldn't have brought the future Xmen here, and this whole damn crossover shouldn't have happened. It's like what SO many other people have been saying. This did NOT need to be a crossover, at least with this many books. It could've been strictly Uncanny & All New for like 2 issues each. I've been guessing something bad happens to Scott in the intervening years, and now that Xorna Jean is face to face with adult Scott I imagine it's all going to come pouring out.

Cue the 05 to finally wake up and give some overlong speech about how completely whacked out the X-Men have let themselves get.Adamnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-20424884217921792282013-10-17T00:42:43.101-04:002013-10-17T00:42:43.101-04:00An addendum to my earlier post: After further thou...An addendum to my earlier post: After further thought, I was trying to bring in the significance of showing Dazzler becoming President and then being killed. I think that Xorn/Jean was involved in the Assassination of President Dazzler--directly or indirectly I'm not sure. I think perhaps, Xorn/Jean hatched a plot to bring Beast of to the Brotherhood, so she could you his knowledge of time-travel to go back and send the teen X-Men to their original time. By the last episode of Battle of the Atom, Beast learns he's been had by Xorn/Jean and turns on her which costs him his life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-64735525389756140702013-10-16T23:37:09.365-04:002013-10-16T23:37:09.365-04:00After reading your blog, I gave this a bit more th...After reading your blog, I gave this a bit more thought. I think this cross over is basically going to turn out as a Scott Summers and Jean Grey arch. What I've concluded is that Xorn/Jean (who is the teenage Jean—not the present Jean resurrected from the grave, again), wants to send the original five X-Men back to the past is because somewhere along the line, the teenage Cyclops dies while saving mutantkind and leaves the teenage Jean all alone to the cruel world on known to the people of the future.
I think, and that's all it is, Xorn/Jean loses the dream of her teacher, and decides to rebel against not only mutants, but humans as well and recreates the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Then jump to Beast (who I believe is the teenaged Hank McCoy from the past—perhaps the current Henry dies in the near future from complications of his mutation issues he's been having of late), after Dazzler was murdered he too loses the faith. He finds himself looking for his secret love (remember All-New X-Men# 15, kids), yep, Jean Grey.
The two resent the fact that they ended up in this new future, Jean would rather be dead than be alone for the rest of her life, and thus they hatch a plan to go into the past to send their teenage selves back to the time line where they should have grown up in.
So lets fast forward to the final issue in this crossover. They imposter X-Men finally have a solid upper hand on the Past-Present-Future X-Men, who appear to be defeated. That is until Present Day Cyclops sees an opportunity to end this battle and resulting the outcome in his favor, but the plan requires self sacrifice (which the character needs to redeem his status and right the wrong of killing Professor Xavier in A vs. X #11).
SO...
Scott makes the move and kills the rest of the imposters (except Wolverine's kid, Raze, you don't put a character on a cover unless you plan to use him again) and himself included. The original teenage X-Men can stay in the present day, be trained by Kitty Pryde and become the All-New X-Men.
THE END.
I know, I left open some loose ends, but I think I cover the general premise of the result, let's see how close I get. LOL! Fortunately, next issue should have at least part of the Big Reveal so they can focus on the resolution in the final issue. Of course, given how crappy crossover writing has been lately, the next issue could just be another stalling action. But positive thoughts people! It's been pretty good so far.
