These kinds of stories really haven...Yeah, I agree. These kinds of stories really haven't been utilized lately. Marvel is too damn focused on events to tell stories like this that are really more reliable. Well that's really our own damn fault because people like us don't buy these books as much as we buy Fear Itself or Flashpoint. If we bought 200,000 copies of this issue, believe me Marvel would make more. But we don't so we're kind of fucking ourselves and not in the way you can do with a porn pass from Hustler. I like that Kieron Gillen did a little social commentary with this issue. I like that it really got back to the core of X-men. It almost made me overlook how annoyed I am with Hope being a fucking Jean Grey ripoff. ALMOST. But facts are facts. Hard hitting stories like this will just never compete with the big events. It's really sad. But I guess it makes these issues all the more special. Nuff said!Jack Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04929572842990203873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-4349547669084687602011-08-06T19:47:05.298-04:002011-08-06T19:47:05.298-04:00I think it was a good issue because it's final...I think it was a good issue because it's finally brought back the heart of the Xmen. For too long it's been "villain/cross over of the moment" and Marvel's lost it's view of why people read Xmen. This was a story about being an outsider and being different. They've done stories like this before (not with this ending) but it's been a long time since this type of story has come up. I wish Marvel would back to their roots and using their comics to showcase social commentary rather than these useless 12 issue crossovers that have absolutely NO lasting impact on characterization and the books en mass. They're like junkies that get a high off the big events, but they keep wanting to do it more and more often but with less of a good feeling and progressively just the BS side effects.iceColdEmmaFrostnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917870048446264335.post-5816740646340430352011-08-04T05:41:37.133-04:002011-08-04T05:41:37.133-04:00Sorry to hear that, but that's what the intern...Sorry to hear that, but that's what the internet is for!
