X-men Supreme Issue 133: Natural Disorder Part 2 is LIVE!

The hardest part of any fight that the X-men, or any superhero for that matter, have to face involves the innocent people who get caught in the crossfire. Sometimes, it’s on a global scale. In the X-men Supreme fanfiction series, arcs like Overlord and the Cambrian Explosion put every man, woman, and child in the crossfire. In arcs like the Phoenix Saga, it put the X-men’s own Jean Grey in the crossfire. In any case, the stakes of the battle were elevated in a major way. The Mutant Liberation Front are preparing to do that, but not in the same way that Magneto or the Phoenix Force has done.

As they’ve shown throughout X-men Supreme Volume 6: Liberation Decimation, the Mutant Liberation Front isn’t interested in inflicting mass casualties. They are not like Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants or even the Morlocks. They seek to create chaos and fear by destroying infrastructure, leaving people to struggle to survive on their own. In Toad’s twisted view, this is the ultimate test for humans and mutants. Take away all the artificial constructs surrounding them and see who can survive. He’s been making progress since the events of X-men Supreme Issue 126: Heart Attack. Now, he’s ready to deliver the finishing blow.

In this case, however, the Mutant Liberation Front is a bit more willing to accept casualties. But this time, there’s a very specific casualty at risk. It happens to be Polaris, the half-sister of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. Ever since the Overlord arc, she’s been an important figure on Genosha. She helped Magneto from destroying the world. She also helped temper her siblings as they took on larger roles on Genosha. She’s even developed a close relationship with Havok, the current field leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants. Now, her life is at risk because she’s the key to the Mutant Liberation Front’s success.

It started with Madison Jefferies, who the Mutant Liberation Front went out of their way to capture. But it’s going to end with Polaris. She’s the final piece. She’s the last remaining key. To get her, the Mutant Liberation Front even convinced Avalanche, who has been a loyal member of the Brotherhood since X-men Supreme Issue 4: Growing Ranks, to betray his team. That betrayal came at the worst possible time for the Scarlet Witch, who is already leading an increasingly chaotic mutant nation. That chaos, however, might not matter if the Mutant Liberation Front succeeds.

Make no mistake. There is a lot at stake here, both in the short and long term for the X-men Supreme fanfiction series. The X-men already lost to the Mutant Liberation Front in X-men Supreme Issue 127: Terror Sell. They can’t afford to lose again. They must defeat the Mutant Liberation Front and they must do it without Professor Charles Xavier. It promises to be a defining challenge for the X-men and one they must pass.

X-men Supreme Issue 133: Natural Disorder Part 2

These are the kinds of moments where the X-men are at their best. They’ve had more than their share of moments in the comics lately, albeit for all the wrong reasons. I want to make these reasons right in the X-men Supreme fanfiction series. Part of that means ensuring the quality of awesome in each issue of this fanfiction series. And I can’t know that I’m sustaining such awesome without sufficient feedback. So please take the time to provide feedback on X-men Supreme. Either post your comment directly in the issue or contact me directly. I’m always happy to chat. Until next time, take care and best wishes. Excelsior!
